Excursion tip in Skåne: Stenshuvuds Nationalpark

Stenshuvuds is a 400-hectare-sized national park in Simrishamn Municipality that offers visitors a large variety of different natural areas to experience, such as beech forest, swamp forest, sand moors, meadows, and sandy beaches.

A must is to climb Stenshuvud, a 97-meter-high mountain, from where you get a view of the park and the sea. Follow the red markings to get to Stenshuvud.

The national park is home to many different species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects. If you look around among bushes and trees, you may see the beautiful leaf frog. If you visit the park during the warmer months, there is a chance that you will hear the nightingale's song. In the now unusual habitat type sand meadow, which soil consists almost exclusively of sand, the rare tawny pipit nests. The National Park's visitor center, Naturum, has an exhibition where you can learn about the park's plants and animals.

Spring is a perfect time to visit the park because then the beech forest's land is covered with flowering white anemones.

We at Treefling think it is important to spend time in nature, take care of our nature and treat yourself to a walk in the beautiful national park, Stenshuvud.
