Fruit and vegetables in season are more nutritious and tastier than crops that are not sold in season. Crops that are not in season are picked earlier and stored at temperatures that reduce their nutritional value and taste. In addition, it is a more climate-smart choice to shop in season, as it takes a lot of energy to store products in cold rooms. If you want to think extra about the environment, you should buy organically grown in season seeing as how the cultivation methods for non-organically grown crops often have a negative impact on the environment.
In season in October:
Fruit:
Sweden: Apple, plum.
Europe: Orange, lemon, kiwi, satsumas, grapes, etc
Vegetables:
Sweden: Cauliflower, broccoli, kohlrabi, carrots, artichokes, potatoes, leeks, beets, lettuce, cabbage, etc.
Europe: Eggplant, avocado, paprika, spinach, tomato, etc
We at Treefling care about the environment, therefore our skin care products contain only organic ingredients.
